Summer Soul Shakedown with Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe

Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe is back in action with a run of shows giving fans what is highly regarded as one of the best live bands on the planet. Karl, who now serves as the saxophonist in The Rolling Stones, tours the world performing to record crowds from South America to New Zealand. KDTU will be showcasing material from their forthcoming studio album, due in 2017, as well as previous KDTU recordings like ‘New Ammo’ and ‘Brother’s Keeper.’ Audiences can also expect a handful of KDTU’s super-charged covers by the likes of Prince, The White Stripes and Beastie Boys. Special guests on select dates will include Jimmy Herring of Widespread Panic who will play as part of the band in Athens, Asheville, Charlotte and Atlanta and Austin-based, Latin-funk purveyors, Brownout who will open shows in Kalamazoo, Chicago and St. Louis.

The current KDTU touring lineup is comprised of Richmond guitarist DJ Williams,  drummer Robert Sput Searight, The Greyboy Allstars’ bassist Chris Stillwell, Crush Effects’ keyboardist Kenneth Crouch, Seattle trumpeter Chris Littlefield and ace slide and lap steel guitarist Seth Freeman.
